Tigers won the toss and elected to bat first. Purathatil Krishnan and Praveen Peter Patel established a good platform for the Tigers with an excellent partnership of 46 runs in the first 6 overs. This was followed by a 103 run partnership between Naveen Alakunte (33 of 33 balls, 1 four) and Purathatil Krishnan (106 of 61 balls, 7 sixers and 7 fours). Naveen and Krish scored at a consistent pace to set a target of 181 runs in 20 overs. Praveen Injapuram (3-0-34-2) was the pick of the bowlers for Prokarma. Sriram Surapaneni, Ankur Sharma and Avdhoot Prakash Paranjape had 1 wicket each to their credit.
In response, Prokarma lost their dashing in-form opener Praveen Injapuram off the second ball to a well judged catch by Vamsi Reddy off the bowling of Anileswar Yarramsetty. Maulik Kothari (24 of 24 balls, 1 four, 1 six) and Gaurav Patil (15 of 16 balls, 2 sixers) steadied the innings with the runs coming at a good clip. However, some tight bowling by Vamsi Reddy (3-0-19-3), Naveen Alakunte (2-0-9-0), Anileswar Yerramsetty (4-0-17-1) ensured that Prokarma would not reach the target of 182 runs. Krishnmohan Rao and Praveen Peter Patel had 1 wicket each.
