Match report Match Report of the Inaugural Friendly Game of SPC Cricket Ball Omaha Premier League-

Cricket Lovers from both the teams showed up to play the first inaugural game on April 15th 2012 NCC Vs Riders, even after a day long innings played by rain yesterday. Riders won the toss and elected to bat. Krish gave a good start to Riders. Suleman & Abdul scored some huge sixes and entertained the audience. Srinivas played a sensible innings when Riders wickets were falling in regular interval. Atik & Sachin played comfortably in the end and took the Riders score to 158/7 in 25 Overs. NCC bowlers took consecutive wickets in regular intervals & restricted Riders to go forward. A good spell from Avadhoot and Rajvardhan (Raj) gave NCC early breakthroughs. Thereafter a good medium pace and spin spell from Nikhil Khuntia, Prashant, JJ, Shardul and Sriram lowered down the scoring rate of Riders from 8.00 per over to 6.28 per over.

In response NCC did not get a good start to their innings. Hari & Sandeep bowled right line and length. They gave no room for NCC batsman to score. Right in time Hari took 3 quick wickets and the pressure was on NCC. Peter, Abhijit and Gaurav added some quick runs to lower down the run rate but under the pressure of keeping up with the run rate, NCC kept loosing wickets. Shardul and Raj then stabilized the innings by intelligently rotating the strike and keeping up with the run rate of 6.00 per over. Brilliant spell of Atik cost NCC 3 quick wickets which gave Riders a chance to come back in the game. After the dismissal of Raj, JJ walked in to build second big partnership with Shardul. With a wicket in hand JJ and Shardul steered NCC to victory in the first league game. NCC finished their innings with 159/9.
