Match report 2015 SPC OPL Tennis Super Kings and Nebraska Huskers

On a cloudy and humid day, Super Kings won the toss and elected to bat.

Venkat and Elan put a quickfire 49 on board in 7 overs. But with some disciplined bowling, Nebraska Huskers came back into the game by taking wickets at regular intervals. Pick of the bowlers was Karthik who took 2 wickets and bowled a maiden over as well in the middle. Super Kings could only score 7 runs in the next 4 overs. When the score was 56/4 in 11 overs, Naveen and Sudhakar played sensibly by scoring 15 runs in the next 2 overs. Both got out in the 13th over.
Super Kings could manage only 74 runs in 14 overs. They felt they were short at least by 20 runs given the opening partnership they had but knew it was a decent score to defend.

Chasing 75 to win in 14 overs, Nebraska Huskers' chase was marred by a couple of quick wickets at the start with the help of some disciplined bowling by Super Kings. Rupesh then came into the middle and looked threatening. He scored quickfire 17 of 16 balls and was taking the game away from Super Kings when they came back into the game by running him out with an excellent piece of fielding by Siva.With Rupesh gone, Super Kings grew in confidence and bowled in good areas to eventually bundle Nebraska Huskers out for 62 runs in 14 overs. Karthik and Rajsekhar did offer some resistance but with the required rate of more than 9 runs, they went for their shots but got out in the process. The remaining couldn't stay for long at the crease.

So, Super Kings won this match by 12 runs.
