Match report 2012 SPC Omaha Premier League T20 ChampionShip First Semifinal (ConAgra Vs NCC) Match Report

NCC won the toss and put ConAgra to bat first. It was very unlucky for Purathatil Krishnan Captain of ConAgra team to loose on a wet and gloomy day. Purathatil and Pranjal opened the innings but the opening pair did not sustain the excellent bowling attack of Amit and Peter and got out early. Amit was at his best when he got the danger man Naveen Alakunte out early. At one point ConAgra was struggling @ 26/3 wickets down and NCC was all gearing up to finish off early but it was Ashwin and Arun Akula stabilized the innings with Ashwin scoring 57 runs and later on supported by Krishna kamineni who scored 33 runs by hitting some excellent shots to fast pace bowler Phil. ConAgra was able to make 149 runs in 20 overs. On the bowling front of NCC Amit took 2 wickets, Aniket took 2 wickets, Peter took 1 wicket, Sriram took 1 wicketand Prashant got one run out at the last bowl.

Chasing the target Manish and Phil opened the innings and were going great with hitting shots everywhere but an excellent catch by Rizwan in Arun Akula over got Manish out. It was good to watch the huge six of Phil from the long on . Phil and Prashant stabilised the innings of NCC with PHIL scoring 16 runs and Prashant scoring 39 runs with 3 fours and 1 huge six but a little confusion while taking the chicky run cost NCC the wicket of PHIL and this important wicket proved out to be the game changer for ConAgra team. Srinivas was later followed for a run out of taking a second run and excellent fielding by Ashwin Dhoot got the wicket of him and then wicket kept falling at regular interval. shardul and Aniketh scored 13 runs and 12 runs respectively but were not able to sustain the googlies of Naveen who took 4 wickets. On the bowling front Ashwin took 2 wickets, Arun took 2 wickets, Purathatil took 1 wicket & Naveen took 4 wickets.

It merely proved out to be a bad day for NCC. Amit has to leave to catch the flight and we missed him in the NCC batting line.
